Abstract
A display device includes a driving controller configured to receive input image data, and generate output image data, a data driver configured to generate data voltages based on the output image data, and a display panel configured to display an image based on the data voltages. The driving controller is further configured to divide the display panel into pixel blocks, divide each of the pixel blocks into sub-pixel blocks, calculate degradation data of each of the sub-pixel blocks, and generate the output image data based on the degradation data and the input image data. The sub-pixel blocks of a first pixel block of the pixel blocks have different shapes from each other.
Claims20
A display device comprising:
- a driving controller configured to receive input image data, and generate output image data;
- a data driver configured to generate data voltages based on the output image data;
- and
- a display panel configured to display an image based on the data voltages,
- wherein the driving controller is further configured to:
- divide the display panel into pixel blocks;
- divide each of the pixel blocks into sub-pixel blocks;
- calculate degradation data of each of the sub-pixel blocks;
- and
- generate the output image data based on the degradation data and the input image data, and
- wherein the sub-pixel blocks of a first pixel block of the pixel blocks have different shapes from each other.
A method of operating a display device, comprising:
- dividing a display panel into pixel blocks;
- dividing each of the pixel blocks into sub-pixel blocks;
- calculating degradation data of each of the sub-pixel blocks;
- and
- generating output image data based on the degradation data and input image data,
- wherein the sub-pixel blocks of a first pixel block of the pixel blocks have different shapes from each other.
An electronic device comprising:
- a processor configured to generate input image data;
- a driving controller configured to receive the input image data, and generate output image data;
- a data driver configured to generate data voltages based on the output image data;
- and
- a display panel configured to display an image based on the data voltages,
- wherein the driving controller is further configured to:
- divide the display panel into pixel blocks;
- divide each of the pixel blocks into sub-pixel blocks;
- calculate degradation data of each of the sub-pixel blocks;
- and
- generate the output image data based on the degradation data and the input image data, and
- wherein the sub-pixel blocks of a first pixel block of the pixel blocks have different shapes from each other.
