Abstract
An aerial image classification system includes an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), a camera, a memory and a local processor. The UAV is wirelessly connected to a central server unit having a central processor that processes images obtained from the camera of the UAV to generate adaptively scaled spatial representations, applies a Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) architecture to the adaptively scaled spatial representations, assigns weights to expert blocks of the MoE, processes adaptively scaled spatial representations based on the weights of the plurality of expert blocks, combines outputs of the expert blocks to generate an aggregated feature representation; and classifies the input image based on the aggregated feature representation.
Claims9
An aerial image classification system, comprising:
- an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) comprising a camera, a memory and a local processor, and
- a central server unit comprising a central processor configured to:
- process an input remote sensing image to generate one or more adaptively scaled spatial representations;
- apply a Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) architecture to the one or more adaptively scaled spatial representations, wherein the MoE architecture comprises a plurality of expert blocks and a routing mechanism;
- assign, by the routing mechanism, one or more weights to the plurality of expert blocks based on respective one or more capabilities and one or more features of the plurality of expert blocks;
- process, by each expert block, one or more portions of the one or more adaptively scaled spatial representations based on the one or more weights assigned to each of the plurality of expert blocks;
- combine one or more outputs of the plurality of expert blocks to generate an aggregated feature representation;
- and
- classify the input remote sensing image based on the aggregated feature representation.
