Abstract
Systems and methods are disclosed for generating a 3D avatar or instructions for movement of robotic limbs using a biomechanical analysis of observed actions with a focus on representing actions through computer-generated 3D avatars or instructions for movement of robotic limbs. Physical quantities of biomechanical actions can be measured from the observations, and the system can analyze these values, compare them to target or optimal values, and use the observations and known biomechanical capabilities to generate 3D avatars or instructions for movement of robotic limbs.

A system configured for applying biomechanical analysis to images of a user's body movement during performance of an activity, the system comprising:
- one or more hardware processors configured by machine-readable instructions to:
- receive, from a single-viewpoint image capture device, the images of the user's body movement during performance of the activity by the user;
- execute a movement module configured to analyze the images of the user's body movement during performance of the activity by the user to measure and quantify a first set of activity-specific kinematic parameters of the user's body movement in three-dimensional space;
- execute a 3D avatar engine configured to automatically generate a 3D avatar of the user performing the activity based on the measured and quantified activity-specific kinematic parameters of the user's body movement;
- execute a display generator configured to display and animate:
- i) the 3D avatar of the user's body movement based on the measured, quantified movement of the activity-specific kinematic parameters;
- and ii) a second 3D avatar based on kinematic parameters from a reference video of performance of an action to visually represent differences between the user's body movement and those in the reference video;
- and
- wherein the system is further configured to allow the user to define a domain and corresponding kinematic parameters or trackers associated with the domain.
