Abstract
Techniques for placing content in virtual universes at locations contextually compatible with the content are disclosed. A system trains a machine learning model to identify virtual environments compatible with content based on attributes representing contexts of the environments. Using the machine learning model, the system determines a contextual environment for a target content item. The system selects the particular contextual environment for placement of the target content item based on the compatibility score.
Claims21
One or more non-transitory computer readable media comprising instructions that, when executed by one or more hardware processors, cause the one or more hardware processors to perform operations comprising:
- extracting, during execution of a virtual universe, contextual attributes of a plurality of contextual environments of the virtual universe;
- applying a clustering-type machine learning model to a plurality of feature vectors representing the contextual attributes of the plurality of contextual environments to group the plurality of contextual environments into a plurality of clusters;
- computing a target feature vector representing contextual attributes of a target contextual environment in the virtual universe for placement of a target content item on a virtual object being rendered in the virtual universe;
- applying the clustering-type machine learning model to the target feature vector to group the target contextual environment into one of the plurality of clusters;
- determining that the clustering-type machine learning model clustered the target contextual environment based on the target feature vector in a same cluster as a particular contextual environment of the plurality of contextual environments;
- selecting the particular contextual environment for the placement of the target content item in the virtual universe;
- and
- causing a modification of the particular contextual environment, in real-time during execution of the virtual universe, to display the target content item on a particular virtual object rendered within the particular contextual environment of the virtual universe.
A method comprising:
- extracting, during execution of a virtual universe, contextual attributes of a plurality of contextual environments of the virtual universe;
- applying a clustering-type machine learning model to a plurality of feature vectors representing the contextual attributes of the plurality of contextual environments to group the plurality of contextual environments into a plurality of clusters;
- computing a target feature vector representing contextual attributes of a target contextual environment in the virtual universe for placement of a target content item on a virtual object being rendered in the virtual universe;
- applying the clustering-type machine learning model to the target feature vector to group the target contextual environment into one of the plurality of clusters;
- determining that the clustering-type machine learning model clustered the target contextual environment based on the target feature vector in a same cluster as a particular contextual environment of the plurality of contextual environments;
- selecting the particular contextual environment for the placement of the target content item in the virtual universe;
- and
- causing a modification of the particular contextual environment, in real-time during execution of the virtual universe, to display the target content item on a particular virtual object rendered within the particular contextual environment of the virtual universe.
A system comprising:
- one or more hardware processors;
- one or more non-transitory computer-readable media;
- and
- program instructions stored on the one or more non-transitory computer-readable media that, when executed by the one or more hardware processors, cause the system to perform operations comprising:
- extracting, during execution of a virtual universe, contextual attributes of a plurality of contextual environments of the virtual universe;
- applying a clustering-type machine learning model to a plurality of feature vectors representing the contextual attributes of the plurality of contextual environments to group the plurality of contextual environments into a plurality of clusters;
- computing a target feature vector representing contextual attributes of a target contextual environment in the virtual universe for placement of a target content item on a virtual object being rendered in the virtual universe;
- applying the clustering-type machine learning model to the target feature vector to group the target contextual environment into one of the plurality of clusters;
- determining that the clustering-type machine learning model clustered the target contextual environment based on the target feature vector in a same cluster as a particular contextual environment of the plurality of contextual environments;
- selecting the particular contextual environment for the placement of the target content item in the virtual universe;
- and
- causing a modification of the particular contextual environment, in real-time during execution of the virtual universe, to display the target content item on a particular virtual object rendered within the particular contextual environment of the virtual universe.
