Techniques for handling schema mismatch when migrating databases

An apparatus, comprising:

• one or more memories storing processor-executable code;
• and
• one or more processors coupled with the one or more memories and individually or collectively operable to execute the code to cause the apparatus to:
• migrate a first data source from a first cloud deployment to a second cloud deployment as part of a procedure to move the first data source from the first cloud deployment to a third cloud deployment, wherein:
• the first cloud deployment operates in accordance with a first database schema release cadence and the third cloud deployment is updated in accordance with a second database schema release cadence, and
• a first database schema associated with the first data source at a time of migration is unchanged for a duration that the first data source is hosted at the second cloud deployment;
• update the first database schema associated with the first data source to an updated first database schema in accordance with the second database schema release cadence associated with a second database schema of the third cloud deployment;
• and
• migrate the first data source from the second cloud deployment to the third cloud deployment based at least in part on the updating.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing code, the code comprising instructions executable by one or more processors to:

• migrate a first data source from a first cloud deployment to a second cloud deployment as part of a procedure to move the first data source from the first cloud deployment to a third cloud deployment, wherein:
• the first cloud deployment operates in accordance with a first database schema release cadence and the third cloud deployment is updated in accordance with a second database schema release cadence, and
• a first database schema associated with the first data source at a time of migration is unchanged for a duration that the first data source is hosted at the second cloud deployment;
• update the first database schema associated with the first data source to an updated first database schema in accordance with the second database schema release cadence associated with a second database schema of the third cloud deployment;
• and
• migrate the first data source from the second cloud deployment to the third cloud deployment based at least in part on the updating.
