Systems and methods for edge device management

A method of managing a plurality of edge devices, the method comprising:

• enabling, at any one of the edge devices, a local caching of update packages for a remote update for one or more other edge devices of the plurality of edge devices, wherein the remote update for one or more other edge devices of the plurality of edge devices comprising providing a point-to-point (p2p) update;
• providing, via the any one of the edge devices of the plurality of edge devices, an indication of availability of the update packages to the one or more other edge devices, wherein the update packages are relevant to the one or more other edge devices based on a location of the one or more other edge;
• configuring, via the any one of the edge devices, a software update package for the one or more other edge devices;
• and
• deploying one or more deployment management tools to manage the one or more other edge devices.

A non-transitory computer readable media for managing a plurality of edge devices comprising a processing circuit comprising a processor and a memory, the media storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause automatic operations to be performed comprising:

• providing, via any one of the edge devices of the plurality of edge devices, remote updates for one or more other edge devices of the plurality of edge devices comprising providing a point-to-point (p2p) update by:
• enabling, via the any one of the edge devices, a local caching of update packages at the any one of the edge devices;
• and
• providing, via the any one of the edge devices, an indication of availability of the update packages to the one or more other edge devices, wherein the update packages are relevant to the one or more other edge devices based on a location of the one or more other edge;
• configuring, via the any one of the edge devices, a software update package for the one or more other edge devices;
• and
• deploying, via the any one of the edge devices, one or more deployment management tools to manage an application on the one or more other edge devices.
