Abstract
A robot capable of obtaining map information by using ultra-wide band (UWB) communication includes an UWB transceiver, a plurality of UWB receivers, a memory, and a main processor. The main processor controls the UWB transceiver to transmit a UWB signal, controls, based on the UWB signal, each of the plurality of UWB receivers to generate a plurality of channel impulse responses (CIRs) and obtains map information of surroundings of the robot, based on respective characteristics of the plurality of channel impulse responses.
Claims20
A robot configured to obtain map information by using ultra-wide band (UWB) communication, the robot comprising:
- an UWB transceiver;
- a plurality of UWB receivers;
- at least one processor;
- and
- memory storing instructions, when executed by the at least one processor individually or collectively, that cause the robot to:
- control the UWB transceiver to transmit a UWB signal;
- control each of the plurality of UWB receivers to generate a plurality of channel impulse responses, based on the UWB signal;
- and
- obtain map information of surroundings of the robot, based on respective characteristics of the plurality of channel impulse responses.
A controlling method of a robot configured to obtain map information by using ultra-wide band (UWB) communication, the controlling method comprising:
- transmitting, by a UWB transceiver of the robot, a UWB signal;
- generating, based on the UWB signal by a plurality of UWB receivers of the robot, a plurality of channel impulse responses;
- and
- obtaining map information of surroundings of the robot, based on respective characteristics of the plurality of channel impulse responses.
