Abstract
A method for facilitating analysis of a fault in a building system. The method may include determining, by a processing circuit, occurrence of a fault, and capturing, by the processing circuit at a time of occurrence of the fault, a snapshot of conditions at the time by selecting a set of data points relating to the building equipment experiencing the fault and storing, by the processing circuit, event data comprising values of the set of data points at the time of occurrence of the fault. The method may also include facilitating analysis of the fault by providing, at a later time after the time of occurrence of the fault, the snapshot via a graphical user interface. The snapshot includes the event data.
Claims20
A method for facilitating analysis of a fault in a building system, the method comprising:
- abstaining from storing, as historical data, values of a first point which occur at times when the fault is not occurring;
- determining, by a processing circuit, an occurrence of the fault;
- capturing, by the processing circuit at a time of the occurrence of the fault, a snapshot of conditions at the time by:
- selecting a set of data points relating to a building equipment experiencing the fault, the set of data points comprising the first point;
- and
- storing as historical data, in response to the fault, and by the processing circuit, event data comprising values of the set of data points at the time of occurrence of the fault;
- and
- facilitating analysis of the fault by providing, at a later time after the time of occurrence of the fault, the snapshot via a graphical user interface, the snapshot comprising the event data, wherein the values for the first point which occur at the times when the fault is not occurring are unavailable via the graphical user interface at the later time.
A building management system (BMS), comprising:
- building equipment operable to affect one or more variable states or conditions of a building;
- and
- processing circuitry programmed to:
- abstain from storing, as historical data, values of a first point which occur at times when a fault is not occurring;
- capture, by the processing circuitry at a time of an occurrence of the fault, a snapshot of conditions at the time by:
- selecting a set of data points relating to a portion of the building equipment experiencing the fault, the set of data points comprising the first point;
- and
- storing as historical data, in response to the fault, event data comprising values of the set of data points at the time of occurrence of the fault;
- and
- facilitate analysis of the fault by providing, at a later time after the time of occurrence of the fault, the snapshot via a graphical user interface, the snapshot showing the event data, wherein the values for the first point which occur at the times when the fault is not occurring are unavailable via the graphical user interface at the later time.
One or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing program instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:
- abstaining from storing, as historical data, values of a first point which occur at times when a building equipment fault is not occurring;
- capturing, concurrently with the building equipment fault, a snapshot by:
- selecting a set of data points relating to a unit of building equipment experiencing the building equipment fault, the set of data points comprising the first point;
- and
- storing as historical data, in response to the fault, values of the set of data points at a time of occurrence of the building equipment fault;
- and
- facilitating analysis of the building equipment fault by providing, at a later time after the time of occurrence of the building equipment fault, the snapshot via a graphical user interface, wherein the snapshot comprises the values of the set of data points at the time of occurrence of the building equipment fault, wherein the values for the first point which occur at the times when the building equipment fault is not occurring are unavailable via the graphical user interface at the later time.
