Abstract
In one example, a method performed by electronic circuitry comprises: causing a transducer to transmit a first signal; receiving a second signal from the transducer; computing distances responsive to a time between the first and second signals; determining a vibration characteristic based on the distances; reading reference vibration characteristics from data in a memory; comparing the input vibration characteristic to the reference vibration characteristics; and responsive to the comparing, performing at least one of: providing a signal representing a status of the comparing; or updating the data in the memory.
Claims22
A method performed by electronic circuitry, the method comprising:
- causing a transducer to transmit a first signal;
- receiving a second signal from the transducer;
- determining a vibration characteristic responsive to the first and second signals;
- determining whether a type and a value of the vibration characteristic matches a type and a value of any reference vibration characteristic of multiple types stored in a database;
- and
- responsive to the determining, performing at least one of:
- providing an output related to the vibration characteristic;
- or adding a reference vibration characteristic to the database.
An apparatus comprising:
- a memory configurable to store values of multiple reference vibration characteristics of multiple types;
- and
- a processor coupled to the memory and configurable to:
- cause a transducer to transmit a first signal;
- receive a second signal from the transducer;
- determine a vibration characteristic responsive to the first and second signals;
- determine whether a type and a value of the vibration characteristic matches a type and a value of any reference vibration characteristic of multiple types stored in the memory;
- and
- responsive to the determining, perform at least one of:
- providing an output related to the vibration characteristic;
- or adding a reference vibration characteristic to the memory.
A system comprising:
- a memory configurable to store values of multiple reference vibration characteristics of multiple types;
- a transducer;
- and
- a processor coupled to the memory and the transducer and configurable to:
- cause the transducer to transmit a first signal;
- receive a second signal from the transducer;
- determine a vibration characteristic responsive to the first and second signals;
- determine whether a type and a value of the vibration characteristic matches a type and a value of any reference vibration characteristic of multiple types stored in the memory;
- and
- responsive to the determining, perform at least one of:
- providing an output related to the vibration characteristic;
- or adding a reference vibration characteristic to the memory.
