Abstract
Methods to detect contaminants in a solution and applications thereof are described. Generally, solutions are printed onto a substrate and then imaged via Raman spectroscopy, which can be utilized to detect signals derived from contaminants.
Claims18
A method to identify particle in a sample, comprising:
- obtaining a sample, wherein the sample comprises a plurality of cells or a plurality of molecules;
- mixing the sample with a solution, wherein the solution comprises non-binding metallic plasmonic nanoparticles;
- printing the mixed sample solution into microdroplets onto a substrate with a printer, wherein each of the microdroplets comprises a single cell or a single molecule and a homogeneous dispersion of the non-binding metallic plasmonic nanoparticles;
- imaging the substrate with an optical spectroscopy;
- analyzing an optical spectrum and identifying particle specific features from the optical spectrum.
