## Abstract

Apparatus and associated methods relate to a water-resistant capture device for enclosing wired electro-magnetic components, the capture device having a base module and a connecting cap module, wherein when the base module and cap module enclose an electro-magnetic component and the base module is connected to the cap module, one or more electric wires are compressed within deformable wire apertures formed by the combined base module and cap module. In some embodiments, the base module is deformable and deforms when affixed to the cap module so as to form a compressive water-resistant seal to an interior of the capture device. In an exemplary embodiment, an LED may be captured within the capture device. The cap module may provide a compressing aperture to provide a water-resistant seal around the lens of an LED projecting therethrough.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A light emitting device including multiple modules, comprising:
a cap module comprised of at least two ends, a first end and a second end, and an open internal cavity configured to at least partially receive a light emitting diode (“LED”) module, the cap module configured to provide an optical path from the received LED module to an external environment;
a base module configured to assemble to the first end of the cap module, wherein the internal cavity is at least partially closed when the base module is inserted into the cap module;
the LED module coupled to a plurality of insulated conductors and disposed fully within the cap module at the second end of the cap module; and
a sealant, configured to transition from a liquid phase to a solid phase, disposed in the internal cavity in a liquid phase before assembling the base module into the cap module;
wherein:
when the base module is assembled to the cap module,
the combination of the cap module and the base module defines two lumens extending longitudinally along at least the base module from the first end of the cap module receiving the base module to the LED module at the second end of the cap module, the two lumens configured to provide a pathway for the plurality of insulated conductors from an outside of the light emitting device to the internal cavity to supply electrical energy to the LED module therein, and
the base module extends between electrical connections of the plurality of insulated conductors; and
wherein, when the sealant is at least partially in the liquid phase, at least a portion of the sealant is distributed such that, when the sealant subsequently transitions to a solid phase, the sealant forms a water-resistant seal that surrounds the electrical connections of the plurality of insulated conductors, at least a portion of the plurality of insulated conductors, the LED module, and at least a portion of the base module.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1, wherein the cap module comprises more than one piece.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1, wherein the cap module is a plug.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1, wherein the sealant is epoxy.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1, wherein the sealant fills the entirety of the cap module.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1, wherein when the base module is assembled to the cap module, radial compression forms a water-resistant seal between the base module and the cap module.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1, wherein the water-resistant seal is a water-tight seal.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1, wherein the cap module comprises a lampholder.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1, wherein the cap module consists of a lampholder and a lens.
