An attachment configured to be removably mounted over at least part of a faucet has: a generally circular first housing portion configured to surround at least part of the faucet lever and permits partial rotation of the lever in a first plane for a child, a connector portion, a second housing portion coupled to the connector portion. The first housing portion is rotatable relative to the second housing portion in a second plane. A projection on an interior surface of the first housing portion limits rotational movement of the lever in the first plane by physical interference. A locking pin within the second housing portion is movable between a locked position in which the first housing portion cannot rotate relative to the second housing portion, and an unlocked position. Actuation of the locking pin determines whether a projection limits lever rotation.
