Abstract
A fluid coupler for providing fluid communication between a faceplate and a pipe includes a primary segment for coupling to a downstream pipe, a secondary segment including a flanged end for coupling to the faceplate, and an inlet in the flanged end for providing fluid communication with an outlet of the faceplate. The flanged end includes mounting slots that correspond to mounting apertures of the faceplate for securing the fluid coupler to the faceplate. The fluid coupler is adjustably secured to the faceplate such that it forms a water-tight seal therewith.
Claims12
An outlet connector configured to provide fluid communication between a water closet supported on a carrier assembly including a faceplate and a downstream pipe, the outlet connector comprising:
- a flange at a first end of the outlet connector, the flange configured to be coupled to a mounting hub of the faceplate to maintain a fluid-tight seal regardless of a selected rotational orientation of the flange relative to the mounting hub, the flange including an inlet opening, the inlet opening being larger than a fluid passageway in the faceplate, the flange including a plurality of slots configured to correspond to a plurality of apertures of the mounting hub, the plurality of slots being larger than the plurality of apertures such that the selected rotational orientation of the flange is adjustable relative to the mounting hub with a plurality of fasteners inserted through the plurality of slots and corresponding plurality of apertures;
- and
- a pipe portion extending from the flange to a second end, the second end including an outlet opening, the second end configured to be coupled to the downstream pipe,
- wherein, while the flange is coupled to the faceplate, the pipe portion having a first diameter that is larger than a second diameter of a fluid coupler of the carrier assembly, the pipe portion being configured to receive the fluid coupler within the pipe portion while the fluid coupler is installed to a maximum insertion depth on the faceplate.
An outlet connector configured to provide fluid communication between a water closet supported on a carrier assembly including a faceplate and a downstream pipe, the outlet connector comprising:
- a flange at a first end of the outlet connector, the flange configured to be coupled to a mounting hub of the faceplate, the flange including an inlet opening having a first central axis, the inlet opening being larger than a fluid passageway in the faceplate;
- and
- a pipe portion extending from the flange to a second end, the second end including an outlet opening having a second central axis, the second end configured to be coupled to the downstream pipe, the second central axis of the outlet opening being parallel to and offset from the first central axis of the inlet opening,
- wherein, while the flange is coupled to the faceplate, the pipe portion having a first diameter that is larger than a second diameter of a fluid coupler of the carrier assembly, the pipe portion being configured to receive the fluid coupler within the pipe portion while the fluid coupler is installed to a maximum insertion depth on the faceplate.
