Abstract
Described herein are antiviral peptides, polynucleotides encoding the peptides, and compositions containing the peptides. Furthermore, described herein are methods for using the peptides, polynucleotides, and compositions for treating or inhibiting a viral infection or one or more symptoms of a viral infection.
Claims16
A polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence with at least 75% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of any one of SEQ ID NOs:
- 3, 16, or 24.
A method of inhibiting viral infection of a cell comprising contacting the cell with an effective amount of a polypeptide with at least 75% sequence identity to the sequence of any one of SEQ ID NOs:
- 3, 16, or 24, a polynucleotide encoding the polypeptide, or a vector comprising the polynucleotide.
A method of treating, inhibiting, or reducing a viral infection in a subject in need thereof comprising administering a composition comprising a polypeptide with at least 75% sequence identity to the sequence of any one of SEQ ID NOs:
- 3, 16, or 24, a nucleic acid molecule encoding the polypeptide, or a vector comprising the nucleic acid molecule to the subject.
