Abstract
An object is to provide a ceramic matrix composite (CMC) having a tensile strength of 150 MPa or more and high heat resistance such that the ratio at which the tensile strength of the CMC retains after the CMC has been exposed to a high-temperature environment for a long period of time, that is, at 1200° C. for 100 hours, is 80% or more. A ceramic matrix composite comprising a ceramic matrix and a continuous ceramic fiber, the ceramic matrix including a sintering inhibitor having an average particle size of 0.28 μm or less.
Claims6
A ceramic matrix composite comprising a ceramic matrix and a continuous ceramic fiber, the ceramic matrix including a sintering inhibitor having an average particle size of 0.28 μm or less, wherein an average distance between centers of gravity of particles of the sintering inhibitor is 4.5 μm or less;
- and
- wherein a tensile strength of the ceramic matrix composite is 150 MPa or more, and a tensile strength retention after the ceramic matrix composite has been subjected to a heat exposure treatment at 1200° C. for 100 hours is 80% or more.
