Abstract
System for synthesis of colloidal nanomaterial includes a multi-stage modular flow reactor that includes four distinct reactor modules for in-flow synthesis of colloidal nanomaterial. The system further includes a computer module for monitor and control of operations of the four reactor modules.
Claims20
A system for in-flow synthesis of a colloidal nanomaterial, the system comprising:
- a first distinct reactor module configured for:
- preheating an indium-zinc precursor;
- providing a hot injection port configured for injecting a phosphorus precursor, and
- mixing the indium-zinc precursor and the phosphorus precursor in a micromixer at a predetermined temperature after preheating the indium-zinc precursor;
- a second distinct reactor module fluidly coupled to the first distinct reactor module and configured for heating an output of the first distinct reactor module to a temperature up to 500° C. within 3 seconds;
- a third distinct reactor module fluidly coupled to the second distinct reactor module and configured for applying a ramp heating profile at a rate between 2° C. and 50° C./minute;
- and
- a fourth distinct reactor module fluidly coupled to the third distinct reactor module and configured for applying a temperature of up to 500° C. to initiate growth and size focusing of at least one of an InP QD core, a ZnSe shell, and ZnS shell;
- and
- a computer module configured for controlling the first, second, third, and fourth distinct reactor modules.
