Systems and methods for placing dunnage on top of packaged products such as corrugated units, where the method may include receiving a corrugated unit to a preset position; analyzing, using a first vision system, the corrugated unit to determine a size, shape, and position of the corrugated unit; determining, from the size, shape, and position of the corrugated unit, a dunnage material size and placement on the corrugated unit; and picking with a robotic manipulator a piece of dunnage material that matches the dunnage material size from a plurality of dunnage material stacks. The robotic manipulator then presents the piece of dunnage material to a second vision system to determine alignment information; and aligns the piece of dunnage material based on feedback from the second vision system. Other embodiments are discussed herein.
