Abstract
The invention relates to a fairing assembly for a commercial vehicle, the fairing assembly comprising at least one deflector device configured to be mounted to a frame of the commercial vehicle, and to be arranged in front of at least one drive axle of the commercial vehicle, wherein the deflector device comprises at least two air guiding surface facing each other, the air guiding surfaces extending towards each other in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle towards the rear of the commercial vehicle thereby bounding at least one channel for air flowing under the commercial vehicle, the channel tapering in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle towards the rear.
Claims20
A fairing assembly for a commercial vehicle, comprising:
- at least one deflector device configured to be mounted to a frame of the commercial vehicle, and to be arranged in front of at least one drive axle of the commercial vehicle having a first drive wheel at a first end spaced away from a second drive wheel at a second end;
- wherein the at least one deflector device comprises at least two air deflectors spaced away from each other in a transverse direction of the commercial vehicle;
- and
- wherein the at least two air deflectors comprise at least two air guiding surfaces facing each other, the at least two air guiding surfaces extending from a first air guiding surface end to a second air guiding surface end towards each other in a longitudinal direction of the commercial vehicle towards a rear of the commercial vehicle thereby bounding at least one channel for air flowing under the commercial vehicle between the first drive wheel and the second drive wheel, the at least one channel tapering in the longitudinal direction of the commercial vehicle towards the rear, wherein a rear end of the at least one channel is between the first drive wheel and the second drive wheel in the transverse direction.
A fairing assembly for a commercial vehicle, comprising:
- a first air deflector having a first air guiding surface with a first rearward air guiding surface end, wherein the first air deflector is arranged in a front of at least one drive axle of the commercial vehicle relative to a longitudinal direction of the commercial vehicle, the at least one drive axle having a first drive wheel at a first end spaced away from and directly facing a second drive wheel at a second end, wherein the first rearward air guiding surface end is between the first drive wheel and the second drive wheel;
- and
- a second air deflector spaced away from the first air deflector in a transverse direction of the commercial vehicle, the second air deflector having a second air guiding surface with a second rearward air guiding surface end, wherein the second air deflector is arranged in the front of the at least one drive axle of the commercial vehicle, wherein the second rearward air guiding surface end is between the first drive wheel and the second drive wheel;
- wherein the first air guiding surface and the second air guiding surface extend towards each other in the longitudinal direction of the commercial vehicle towards a rear of the commercial vehicle so as to define a tapering channel between the first drive wheel and the second drive wheel to direct air flowing under the commercial vehicle past the first drive wheel and the second drive wheel.
