Systems and methods for active damping of a platform of a vehicle

A method, comprising:

• detecting a phase change from a nominal phase between a vehicle platform of a vehicle and a plurality of propulsion units attached to the vehicle platform;
• comparing a first parameter of a first propulsion unit of the plurality of propulsion units and a second parameter of a second propulsion unit of the plurality of propulsion units;
• and
• determining that one or more dampers connected between the vehicle platform and the plurality of propulsion units is degraded based on the comparison of a threshold difference between the first parameter and the second parameter;
• and
• applying a damping torque to one or more axles of the plurality of propulsion units to reduce an oscillation phase condition.

A vehicle system, comprising:

• a vehicle platform;
• a first propulsion unit of a plurality of propulsion units attached to the vehicle platform;
• a second propulsion unit of the plurality of propulsion units attached to the vehicle platform;
• and
• a processor configured to:
• compare a first parameter of the first propulsion unit and a second parameter of the second propulsion unit;
• detect an oscillation phase condition between the vehicle platform and the plurality of propulsion units based on comparing the first parameter and the second parameter;
• and
• apply a damping torque to one or more axles of the plurality of propulsion units to reduce the oscillation phase condition.
