## Abstract

An example operation includes one or more of providing, by a battery, electricity to a device, determining a configuration of the provided electricity based on a first battery management system (BMS) that contains voltage and current requirements, and configuring a second BMS, based on the determining.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method, comprising:
detachably coupling an auxiliary battery to a device that includes an internal battery through an external port of the device;
determining a state of charge (SOC) of the internal battery with a battery management system (BMS) of the internal battery, wherein the SOC is determined based on information received via a communication from a BMS of the auxiliary battery which includes a SOC of the auxiliary battery;
determining whether to supply power to a power consuming component of the device from the auxiliary battery or the internal battery of the device based on a comparison of the SOC of the internal battery to a SOC threshold that controls selection of the auxiliary battery or the internal battery; and
configuring a switch within the device to control the power consuming component of the device to receive power directly from the auxiliary battery based on the determination.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the configuring is responsive to the auxiliary battery being attached to a port of the device.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The method of claim 2, comprising:
providing electricity, from the auxiliary battery, to the power consuming component of the device based on the configured switch.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, further comprising directing electricity from the internal battery to components of the device that consume a lower amount of electricity compared to other components of the device.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the configuring comprises:
disabling non-essential components of the device when the SOC of the internal battery and another SOC of the auxiliary battery are below a threshold.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the switch comprises a first switch associated with the auxiliary battery and a second switch associated with the internal battery, and the configuring comprises configuring the first and second switches.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, comprising:
receiving a code associated with the auxiliary battery; and
authenticating, by the device, the auxiliary battery based on the received code.

### Claim 8

A system, comprising:
at least one processor; and
a memory, wherein the at least one processor and the memory are communicably coupled, wherein the at least one processor is configured to:
detachably couple an auxiliary battery to a device that includes an internal battery through an external port of the device;
determine a state of charge (SOC) of the internal battery with a battery management system (BMS) of the internal battery, wherein the SOC is determined based on information received via a communication from a BMS of the auxiliary battery which includes a SOC of the auxiliary battery;
determine whether to supply power to a power consuming component of the device from the auxiliary battery or the internal battery of the device based on a comparison of the SOC of the internal battery to a SOC threshold that controls selection of the auxiliary battery or the internal battery; and
configure a switch within the device to control the power consuming component of the device to receive power directly from the auxiliary battery based on the determination.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The system of claim 8, wherein the at least one processor is configured to configure the switch responsive to the auxiliary battery being attached to a port of the device.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

The system of claim 9, wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:
provide electricity, from the auxiliary battery, to the power consuming component of the device based on the configured switch.
