Dual-interface control for electronic exercise equipment

An electronic exercise machine, comprising:

• a frame;
• an electronically adjustable resistance motor associated with the frame and operable to apply a resistive force to a user via at least one exercise interface;
• a surface associated with the frame and configured to support a mobile communications device having a device display;
• a mobile communications device charger configured to permit charging of the mobile communications device when the mobile communications device is supported by the surface;
• at least one user interface associated with the frame;
• a machine display associated with the frame;
• at least one processor configured to:
• establish a data connection with the mobile communications device while the mobile communications device is being charged by the mobile communications device charger;
• receive an input of from the at least one user interface associated with the frame;
• in response to the input and while the mobile communications device is being charged by the mobile communications device charger, simultaneously change information presented on the machine display and the device display, such that device display mirrors information on the machine display;
• receive a command from the mobile communications device that causes an information change on the device display;
• and
• in response to the command, simultaneously cause the machine display to mirror the information change on the device display.
