Method and system for tuning of movement disorder therapy devices

A system for adjusting the therapy or treatment parameters for treating a subject's movement disorder by a clinician, the system comprising:

• a therapy or treatment device with a first set of adjustable parameters;
• at least one sensor for quantifying at least one symptom of a subject's movement disorder, the at least one sensor adapted to output a signal related to the at least one quantified symptom;
• a command module adapted for receiving the signal acquired by the at least one sensor, the command module comprising a memory and being adapted for processing the signal acquired by the at least one sensor to provide a digital signal corresponding to the at least one quantified symptom;
• a receiver unit adapted to receive the output from the command module and to retransmit the output, or a second output based on the command module output;
• a clinician unit comprising a processor, the processor adapted in part for receiving and processing the retransmitted output or the second output from the receiver unit, and to produce a tuning output comprising computed adjustments for one or more of the adjustable parameters of the therapy or treatment device representing a second set of adjustable parameters, the output being based at least in part on the signal acquired by the at least one sensor and at least in part on the first set of adjustable parameters;
• a display for receiving the one or more of the outputs;
• and
• an interface adapted for providing the therapy or treatment device with the tuning output.
