Abstract
Compositions and methods are presented that include exosomes from stem cells and/or tumor cells that were previously exposed to an inflammatory stimulus. Advantageously, such exosomes exhibit anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect when administered to an individual. Therefore, a preferred use of such exosomes will reduce the need for opioid analgesics, and reduce pain and inflammation.
Claims7
Exosomes from tumor cells that were previously exposed to one or more inflammatory stimulus for the treatment of an inflammatory condition and/or pain in a human in need thereof, wherein the exosomes are obtained by stimulating tumor cells with a lipopolysaccharide (LPS);
- wherein the exosomes express increased miRNA-21 compared to unmodified exosomes that are not stimulated by LPS;
- wherein the exosomes are formulated for administration via in a syringe or catheter;
- and wherein administration of the exosomes to the human reduces inflammatory markers and/or alleviates pain in the human.
