Claims16
A talus implant comprising:
- a body section;
- a neck portion that extends from a front end of the body section and defines a head of the talus implant that is configured for interaction with an adjacent navicular bone when the talus implant is implanted into an ankle joint;
- a crown portion defined by a top portion of the body section being domed and extending to the neck portion;
- and
- a pair of wing sections that flare out from a back end of the body section configured to rest over a calcaneus when the talus implant is implanted into an ankle joint,
- wherein said neck portion, said crown portion and said pair of wing portions are made from a single piece of material and form a continuous single top articulation surface of the talus implant,
- wherein a first lateral side of the body section extends inwardly in a lateral width direction to the neck portion, and
- wherein the neck portion defines a lateral width that is smaller than a lateral width of the body section and comprises a plurality of coupling holes that extend from a portion of the top articulation surface defined by the neck portion to a bottom side of the body section.
