Pulsed field ablation device and method

A catheter for ablation of a target tissue configured for insertion into a heart of a patient, the catheter having a longitudinal central axis and comprising:

• an outer elongated shaft;
• an inner elongated shaft;
• at least one coupling structure or retaining member, the at least one coupling structure or retaining member being coupled to the inner elongated shaft;
• and
• a distal tip comprising:
• an expandable basket configured to deploy from a collapsed configuration to at least one expanded configuration, the expandable basket comprising filaments braided into a braided mesh, wherein the one or more filaments are coupled to at least one of the at least one coupling structure or retaining member, and wherein the one or more filaments comprise:
• a first elongated portion comprising a first distal portion having a distal end, and
• a second elongated portion comprising a second distal portion having a distal end,
• wherein the first distal portion and the second distal portion are coupled together at their distal ends via a bent portion, and have a maximum angle between each other as measured on the projection of the first distal portion and the second distal portion coupled to the bent portion to a maximum angle plane, and wherein the maximum angle plane is a plane parallel to the longitudinal central axis where the angle between the first distal portion and the second distal portion is at its maximum, wherein the bent portion comprises a bend of the one or more filaments, and wherein a bending of the bend takes place in a bending plane, and wherein the first elongated portion and the second elongated portion of the one or more filaments are divided by a plane of symmetry therebetween, and wherein the bending plane is rotated with respect to the plane of symmetry at an angle of 1° to 89°.
