Abstract
Systems and methods for treating cellulite including an apparatus that applies or a method involving separating septa to eliminate or reduce the appearance of cellulite. In one approach, an interventional tool is placed between tissue layers to engage and treat septa connecting tissue layers between which fat deposits are contained.
Claims15
A system for treating an expression of cellulite on skin of a patient, the system comprising:
- a handpiece including:
- a base having a chamber and a conduit, wherein the conduit provides access to the chamber,
- an upper portion having an upper platform and a lower platform, wherein the upper portion is above the chamber, and the lower platform has an adhesive on a lower surface configured to engage the skin, and
- a spring positioned between the base and the upper platform and around the lower platform, wherein the spring is configured to bias the upper portion upwardly to lift the skin;
- and
- a treatment device having a shaft and a septa engaging assembly attached to the shaft,
- wherein the shaft is configured to be inserted through the conduit and through the skin received in the chamber, and the septa engaging assembly is configured to engage a septum to treat the expression of cellulite.
