Abstract
Systems and methods are herein provided for automatic phantom centering. In one example, a method for an imaging system comprises acquiring scan data of a phantom; determining one or more distances to center of the phantom; and automatically adjusting a position of the phantom based on the one or more distances to center.
Claims20
A method for an imaging system, comprising:
- acquiring scan data of a phantom;
- determining one or more distances to a center of the imaging system of the phantom, wherein determining the one or more distances to the center of the imaging system of the phantom comprises determining a first amount of lateral misalignment;
- determining a second amount of tilt misalignment;
- and
- automatically adjusting a position of the phantom based on the first amount of lateral misalignment and the second amount of tilt misalignment.

A system, comprising:
- a computing device communicably coupled to an imaging system configured to image a step phantom, the computing device configured with instructions in non-transitory memory that when executed cause the computing device to:
- identify the step phantom to be imaged;
- acquire scan data of the step phantom;
- determine, for each step of the step phantom, an amount of misalignment of the corresponding step of the step phantom in one or more directions;
- and
- automatically adjust a position of the step phantom for the corresponding step based on the amount of misalignment of the corresponding step.

A method for automatically centering a phantom, comprising:
- acquiring scan data of the phantom on a table with an imaging system;
- determining a first distance from a center of the phantom to an isocenter of the imaging system in a z-direction by applying an edge finding algorithm to determine whether the phantom is in view of the imaging system;
- determining a second distance from the center of the phantom to the isocenter in a y-direction;
- determining a third distance from the center of the phantom to the isocenter in an x-direction;
- and
- moving the table the first, second, and third distances to align the center of the phantom with the isocenter of the imaging system.
