Abstract
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-storage media, for controlling a camera to observe aquaculture feeding behavior. In some implementations, a method includes moving a camera to a first position, obtaining an image captured by the camera at the first position, determining a feeding observation mode, and based on the feeding observation mode and analysis of the image, determining a second position to move the camera.
Claims20
A method for localizing an underwater camera to observe fish feeding, comprising:
- obtaining one or more images of fish in an underwater environment using an underwater camera that is in an initial position;
- generating one or more features from the images of fish in the underwater environment;
- determining, based at least on the one or more features from the images of the fish in the underwater environment, that the underwater camera is not yet positioned to maximize an amount of feed seen per unit time;
- and
- in response to determining that the underwater camera is not yet positioned to maximize the amount of feed seen per unit time, transmitting an instruction to move the underwater camera from the initial position to an updated position to continue observing the fish feeding.
A system comprising:
- one or more processors, and
- one or more non-transitory computer-readable media that store instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:
- obtaining one or more images of fish in an underwater environment using an underwater camera that is in an initial position;
- generating one or more features from the images of fish in the underwater environment;
- determining, based at least on the one or more features from the images of the fish in the underwater environment, that the underwater camera is not yet positioned to maximize an amount of feed seen per unit time;
- and
- in response to determining that the underwater camera is not yet positioned to maximize the amount of feed seen per unit time, transmitting an instruction to move the underwater camera from the initial position to an updated position to continue observing the fish feeding.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium that stores instructions which, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:
- obtaining one or more images of fish in an underwater environment using an underwater camera that is in an initial position;
- generating one or more features from the images of fish in the underwater environment;
- determining, based at least on the one or more features from the images of the fish in the underwater environment, that the underwater camera is not yet positioned to maximize an amount of feed seen per unit time;
- and
- in response to determining that the underwater camera is not yet positioned to maximize the amount of feed seen per unit time, transmitting an instruction to move the underwater camera from the initial position to an updated position to continue observing the fish feeding.
