## Abstract

Methods and systems for generating a plasma-activated liquid or gas, and applying the plasma-activated liquid for agricultural use. A system embodiment includes a hand-held device that can be pointed and directed at different target areas of a plant. A method embodiment includes generating a plasma discharge in a gas environment or a liquid environment, and applying the gas/liquid to a plant.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method for production of plasma-activated liquids, the method comprising:
immersing a first electrode and a second electrode into liquid in a container;
energizing, by a high voltage power supply, the first electrode and the second electrode to form a plasma between the first electrode and the second electrode to thereby generate plasma-activated liquid; and
etching material from at least one of the first electrode and the second electrode into the plasma-activated liquid.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the liquid is one of water, distilled water or nutrient-enriched liquid.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein energizing by the high voltage power supply includes energizing by a DC power supply, an AC power supply, a pulsed DC power supply, a pulsed AC power supply, a harmonic RF power supply, or a RF power supply operating at microwave frequencies.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, further comprising:
applying the plasma activated liquid to a plant.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The method of claim 4, wherein applying the plasma-activated liquid to a plant includes applying the plasma-activated liquid to a root zone of the plant, or to a foliage of the plant.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, further comprising:
filtering the etched material from the plasma activated liquid; and
applying the filtered etched material to a plant.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, further comprising:
mixing the plasma-activated liquid with a second liquid, and
wherein the applying the plasma-activated liquid includes applying the mixed plasma activated liquid.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, further comprising:
periodically adjusting at least one of the first electrode and the second electrode to maintain the plasma between the first electrode and the second electrode.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein energizing, by the high voltage power supply, the first electrode and the second electrode occurs for a predetermined period of time.

### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein energizing, by the high voltage power supply, the first electrode and the second electrode occurs until a desired chemistry of liquid is achieved.

### Claim 11 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the first electrode comprises graphite.

### Claim 12 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the second electrode comprises silver.
