Lighting control system configurable by mobile device

A method for configuring a lighting control system of a building environment, the method comprising:

• connecting a mobile device and a first sensor device of a plurality of sensor devices located in a particular area of a plurality of areas via a wireless communication link;
• directing a directional link from a directional device to a select sensor device of the plurality of sensor devices subsequent to connecting the mobile device and the first sensor device via the wireless communication link, the select sensor device being one of the first sensor device or a second sensor device of the plurality of sensor devices located in the particular area of the plurality of areas;
• receiving a response message from the select sensor device to the mobile device via, at least in part, by the wireless communication link in response to directing the directional link to the select sensor device via the directional link;
• associating the select sensor device with a device group corresponding to the particular area based on the response message;
• and
• configuring a communication parameter for a sensor network including the plurality of sensor devices as a group in response to associating the plurality of sensor devices with the device group.
