Abstract
This application relates to the field of wireless communication technologies, and discloses a communication method and an apparatus, to reduce power consumption caused by invalid listening of a terminal. First, a first device sends a first message to a second device, and the second device may send the first message from the first device to a third device. Then, the first device listens to a response message of the first message from the third device in a listening time window. The response message of the first message may be sent by the third device to the first device, or may be sent by the third device to the first device via the second device.
Claims14
A communication method, wherein the method comprises:
- sending, by a first device, a first message to a second device;
- and
- starting, by the first device, to listen to a response message directly from a third device at a start point of a listening time window, the response message responsive to the first message, the third device different from the first device and the second device,
- wherein the method further comprises:
- determining, by the first device, the start point based on a second resource associated with a first resource used by the first device to send the first message, wherein the second resource is used by the second device to send the first message to the third device.
A communication method, wherein the method comprises:
- receiving, by a second device, a first message sent on a first resource from a first device;
- forwarding, by the second device, the first message on a second resource to a third device different from the first device and the second device;
- and
- sending, by the second device indication information to the first device, wherein
- the second resource used by the second device to forward the first message to the third device is associated with the first resource used by the first device to send the first message,
- the indication information is usable by the first device to determine the second resource, based on which a start point of a listening time window is determinable by the first device, and
- the start point of the listening time window is a point at which the first device starts to listen to a response message of the first message from the third device.
A communication apparatus, wherein the apparatus comprises:
- a transmitter, configured to send a first message to a second device;
- a receiver, configured to start to listen to a response message of the first message from a third device at a start point of a listening time window;
- and
- a processor configured to determine the start point based on:
- a second resource associated with a first resource used by the transmitter to send the first message to the second device, wherein the second resource is used by the second device to forward the first message to the third device which is different from the apparatus and the second device.
