Abstract
A method of providing a base format for Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) power control is disclosed, the method comprising: defining a base format PUCCH based on established relationships with the different formats of PUCCH configured in the network, measuring an acceptable Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise Ratio (SINR) for PUCCH formats x∈{0, . . . , 4} over varying channel, wherein the PUCCH format with a minimum SINR is defined as the Base format for the PUCCH calculations, calculated by multiplying PUCCH_FORMAT_X with the min of the SINR of each of the measurements of the SINR over each of the PUCCH formats.

A method of Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) power control, comprising:
- defining, by a base station, a base format for a PUCCH based on established relationships with different formats of PUCCH configured in the network;
- and
- measuring, by the base station, an acceptable Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise Ratio (SINR), SINRPUCCH_FORMAT_x, for PUCCH formats x∈{0, . . . , 4} over a varying channel, wherein the PUCCH format with the minimum SINRPUCCH_FORMAT_x for the following PUCCH calculations is defined as the base format for the PUCCH:
- PUCCH_FORMAT_BASE=PUCCH_FORMAT_X with
- SINRfx=SINRfbase where, SINRfbase=min{SINRf0, SINRf1, SINRf2, SINRf3, SINRf4}.
A system for Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) power control, comprising:
- a base station, including a memory and a processor, coupled to a user equipment (UE), wherein the base station is configured to:
- define a base format for a PUCCH based on established relationships with different formats of PUCCH configured in the network;
- and
- measure an acceptable Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise Ratio (SINR), SINRPUCCH_FORMAT_x, for PUCCH formats x∈{0, . . . , 4} over a varying channel, wherein the PUCCH format with the minimum SINRPUCCH_FORMAT_x for the following PUCCH calculations is defined as the base format for the PUCCH:
- PUCCH_FORMAT_BASE=PUCCH_FORMAT_X with
- SINRfx=SINRfbase where, SINRfbase=min{SINRf0, SINRf1, SINRf2, SINRf3, SINRf4}.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions for Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) power control, which, when executed, cause a base station to perform steps comprising:
- defining, by the base station, a base format for a PUCCH based on established relationships with different formats of PUCCH configured in the network;
- and
- measuring, by the base station, an acceptable Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise Ratio (SINR), SINRPUCCH_FORMAT_x, for PUCCH formats x∈{0, . . . , 4} over a varying channel, wherein the PUCCH format with the minimum SINRPUCCH_FORMAT_x for the following PUCCH calculations is defined as the base format for the PUCCH:
- PUCCH_FORMAT_BASE=PUCCH_FORMAT_X with
- SINRfx=SINRfbase where, SINRfbase=min{SINRf0, SINRf1, SINRf2, SINRf3, SINRf4}.
