Multiple positioning reference unit signal usage

A UE (user equipment) positioning method comprising:

• receiving, at the UE from a first reference device, a first reference device measurement of a first reference signal from a first signal source;
• receiving, at the UE from a second reference device, a second reference device measurement of a second reference signal from a second signal source, the second reference device being separate from the first reference device;
• receiving, at the UE, the first reference signal from the first signal source;
• determining, at the UE, a first UE measurement of the first reference signal;
• receiving, at the UE, the second reference signal from the second signal source;
• determining, at the UE, a second UE measurement of the second reference signal;
• determining, at the UE, a first position of the UE based on the first UE measurement of the first reference signal and the first reference device measurement of the first reference signal;
• determining, at the UE, a second position of the UE based on the second UE measurement of the second reference signal and the second reference device measurement of the second reference signal;
• and
• determining, at the UE, a third position of the UE based on the first position of the UE and the second position of the UE, wherein the third position of the UE is a weighted average position of the first position of the UE and the second position of the UE.

A UE (user equipment) comprising:

• means for receiving, from a first reference device, a first reference device measurement of a first reference signal from a first signal source;
• means for receiving, from a second reference device, a second reference device measurement of a second reference signal from a second signal source, the second reference device being separate from the first reference device;
• means for receiving the first reference signal from the first signal source;
• means for determining a first UE measurement of the first reference signal;
• means for receiving the second reference signal from the second signal source;
• means for determining a second UE measurement of the second reference signal;
• means for determining a first position of the UE based on the first UE measurement of the first reference signal and the first reference device measurement of the first reference signal;
• means for determining a second position of the UE based on the second UE measurement of the second reference signal and the second reference device measurement of the second reference signal;
• and
• means for determining a third position of the UE based on the first position of the UE and the second position of the UE, wherein the third position of the UE is a weighted average position of the first position of the UE and the second position of the UE.

A non-transitory, processor-readable storage medium comprising processor-readable instructions to cause at least one processor of a UE (user equipment) to:

• receive, from a first reference device, a first reference device measurement of a first reference signal from a first signal source;
• receive, from a second reference device, a second reference device measurement of a second reference signal from a second signal source, the second reference device being separate from the first reference device;
• receive the first reference signal from the first signal source;
• determine a first UE measurement of the first reference signal;
• receive the second reference signal from the second signal source;
• determine a second UE measurement of the second reference signal;
• determine a first position of the UE based on the first UE measurement of the first reference signal and the first reference device measurement of the first reference signal;
• determine a second position of the UE based on the second UE measurement of the second reference signal and the second reference device measurement of the second reference signal;
• and
• determine a third position of the UE based on the first position of the UE and the second position of the UE, wherein the third position of the UE is a weighted average position of the first position of the UE and the second position of the UE.
