Abstract
Apparatuses, methods, and systems are used for transmitting and/or receiving a positioning reference signal resource configuration. One method includes receiving, at a location server, a discontinuous reception configuration of at least one user equipment. The method includes transmitting a positioning reference signal resource configuration to the at least one user equipment based on the discontinuous reception configuration. The at least one user equipment uses the positioning reference signal resource configuration and the discontinuous reception configuration to perform positioning reference signal measurements.
Claims20
A method performed by a location server, the method comprising:
- receiving a discontinuous reception (DRX) configuration and a carrier aggregation capability of at least one user equipment (UE);
- and
- determining a positioning reference signal (PRS) resource configuration based on the DRX configuration;
- determining a PRS carrier aggregation configuration based on the carrier aggregation capability;
- transmitting the PRS resource configuration and the PRS carrier aggregation configuration to the at least one UE;
- wherein the at least one UE uses the PRS resource configuration and the DRX configuration to perform PRS measurements.
A location server, comprising:
- at least one memory;
- and
- at least one processor coupled with the at least one memory and configured to cause the location server to:
- receive a discontinuous reception (DRX) configuration and a carrier aggregation capability of at least one user equipment (UE);
- determine a positioning reference signal (PRS) resource configuration based on the DRX configuration;
- determine a PRS carrier aggregation configuration based on the carrier aggregation capability;
- transmit the PRS resource configuration and the PRS carrier aggregation configuration to the at least one UE;
- wherein the at least one UE uses the PRS resource configuration and the DRX configuration to perform PRS measurements.
A method performed by a user equipment (UE), the method comprising:
- transmitting a carrier aggregation capability of the UE;
- and
- receiving a positioning reference signal (PRS) resource configuration and a PRS carrier aggregation configuration, wherein the PRS resource configuration is determined based on a discontinuous reception (DRX) configuration of the UE and wherein the PRS carrier aggregation configuration is determined based on the carrier aggregation capability;
- and
- performing PRS measurements based on the PRS resource configuration and the DRX configuration.
