Abstract
Systems, methods, apparatuses, and/or computer program products for power headroom report (PHR) triggering and reporting, e.g., for multiple transmission-reception point (multi-TRP) physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) repetition operation, are provided.
Claims5
A method, comprising:
- receiving, at a user equipment, a configuration for two uplink channel pathloss references for uplink channel transmission comprising physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) repetition over two uplink paths associated with different transmission-reception points in a cell;
- receiving, by the user equipment, an indication from a network node identifying a single one of the two uplink channel pathloss references to be used by the user equipment for triggering and reporting;
- triggering two power headroom reports, each power headroom report corresponding to a respective one of the two uplink channel pathloss references:
- reporting only one power headroom report of the two triggered power headroom reports, the reported power headroom report corresponding to the uplink channel pathloss reference identified by the network node;
- and
- transmitting, to the network node, a single entry medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) on a PUSCH transmission that includes:
- a power headroom value corresponding to the identified uplink channel pathloss reference;
- an indication of the identified uplink channel pathloss reference encoded using at least one reserved bit of the single entry MAC CE;
- and
- power headroom value differentiation information representing a difference between the power headroom value corresponding to the identified uplink channel pathloss reference and a power headroom value corresponding to the other uplink channel pathloss reference,
- wherein the power headroom value differentiation information is encoded using reserved bits of the single entry MAC CE.

An apparatus, comprising:
- at least one processor;
- and
- at least one memory comprising computer program code,
- the at least one memory and computer program code configured, with the at least one processor, to cause the apparatus at least to:
- receive a configuration for two uplink channel pathloss references for uplink channel transmission comprising physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) repetition over two uplink paths associated with different transmission-reception points in a cell;
- receive an indication from a network node identifying a single one of the two uplink channel pathloss references to be used by the apparatus for triggering and reporting;
- trigger two power headroom reports, each power headroom report corresponding to a respective one of the two uplink channel pathloss references;
- reporting only one power headroom report of the two triggered power headroom reports, the reported power headroom report corresponding to the uplink channel pathloss reference identified by the network node;
- and
- transmit, to the network node, a single entry medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) on a PUSCH transmission that includes:
- a power headroom value corresponding to the identified uplink channel pathloss reference;
- an indication of the identified uplink channel pathloss reference encoded using at least one reserved bit of the single entry MAC CE;
- and
- power headroom value differentiation information representing a difference between the power headroom value corresponding to the identified uplink channel pathloss reference and a power headroom value corresponding to the other uplink channel pathloss reference,
- wherein the power headroom value differentiation information is encoded using reserved bits of the single entry MAC CE.
