Abstract
The present disclosure provides systems and methods for performing residual coding of video data. According to certain disclosed embodiments, the methods include: receiving control information for coding a video sequence; and determining, based on the control information, a coding method for coding a prediction residual signal of a coding block in the video sequence. The coding method is one of a transform residual coding and a transform-skip residual coding.
Claims6
A computer-implemented method for encoding a video sequence into a bitstream, comprising:
- receiving a video sequence;
- determining a residual coding method for encoding a residual signal of a luma transform skip block in a slice of the video sequence, the residual coding method being one of a transform residual coding and a transform skip residual coding;
- and
- generating a bitstream comprising coded information for signaling control information for encoding the video sequence, wherein the control information is signaled at a slice level for the slice of the video sequence and includes a flag, and
- wherein a value of the flag is set to be 1 in response to a determination that the residual coding method being the transform residual coding.
A computer-implemented method for decoding a bitstream to output one or more pictures of a video sequence, comprising:
- receiving a bitstream, wherein the bitstream comprises coded information for signaling control information for decoding the bitstream into one or more pictures of a video sequence, and the control information is signaled at a slice level for a slice of the video sequence and includes a flag;
- and
- determining a residual coding method for decoding a residual signal of a luma transform skip block in the slice according to the control information, the residual coding method being one of a transform residual coding and a transform skip residual coding,
- wherein in response to a value of the flag being 1, determining the residual coding method to be the transform residual coding.
A non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions that are executable by one or more processors of a system for performing operations for processing a bitstream, the operations comprising:
- receiving a bitstream, wherein the bitstream comprises coded information for signaling control information for decoding the bitstream into one or more pictures of a video sequence, wherein the control information is signaled at a slice level for a slice of the video sequence and includes a flag;
- and
- determining a residual coding method for decoding a residual signal of a luma transform skip block in the slice according to the control information, the residual coding method being one of a transform residual coding and a transform skip residual coding,
- wherein in response to a value of the flag being 1, determining the residual coding method to be the transform residual coding.
