Device recognition using recognition identifier

A server computer comprising:

• a processor;
• a network interface;
• and
• a non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising code for instructing the processor to implement a method for providing access to resources, the method comprising performing:
• during a first web session between a client device and a resource provider computer, the first web session corresponding to a first access request performed by the client device with the resource provider computer as a guest for access to a first resource:
• receiving a remember flag from the resource provider computer, wherein the resource provider computer transmitted the remember flag responsive to a selection from the client device to remember the client device;
• transmitting a recognition identifier to the resource provider computer;
• receiving user information from the resource provider computer, the user information including a unique identifier associated with the client device, wherein the server computer has an account with payment information linked to the unique identifier;
• during a second web session between the client device and the resource provider computer, the second web session corresponding to a second access request performed by the client device with the resource provider computer for access to a second resource:
• receiving the recognition identifier from the resource provider computer;
• identifying the unique identifier and the payment information based on the recognition identifier;
• transmitting the unique identifier and the payment information to the resource provider computer, wherein the resource provider computer provides the payment information to the client device;
• receiving resource information corresponding to the second resource from the resource provider computer;
• and
• causing the second access request to be completed responsive to receiving the resource information.
