Abstract
A secure system and method for sharing online accounts includes: a web service; a shared account residing on the web service; a client device requiring access to the shared account; and a proxy server; whereby the client device makes requests to the web service through the proxy server to access the shared account.
Claims3
A system for sharing online accounts, the system comprising:
- a proxy server;
- wherein the proxy server is configured to facilitate communication between a client device and a web service to access an API of the web service,
- wherein the proxy server is configured to access an encrypted API key associated with the API of the web service,
- wherein the proxy server is configured to reject a request to the API of the web service based on the contents of the request, and
- wherein the proxy server is configured to modify the response of the web service prior to relaying it to the client device.
