Resolving blockchain domains

A system, comprising:

• one or more processors configured to:
• intercept a request to resolve a name of a domain of an identifier of web content;
• programmatically identify the name of the domain as one managed via a name service based on a blockchain;
• determine a unique blockchain identifier of a non-fungible token representing the domain on the blockchain;
• and
• leverage the unique blockchain identifier of the non-fungible token to send a request to obtain at least one resolution record of a plurality of different resolution records of different types stored for the domain, wherein a registry smart contract on the blockchain manages the non-fungible token and associates the domain with an account address of an owner of the domain;
• and
• a memory coupled to at least one of the one or more the processors and configured to provide the at least one of the one or more processor with instructions.

A computer program product embodied in a non-transitory computer readable medium and comprising computer instructions for:

• intercepting a request to resolve a name of a domain of an identifier of web content;
• programmatically identifying the name of the domain as one managed via a name service based on a blockchain;
• determining a unique blockchain identifier of a non-fungible token representing the domain on the blockchain;
• leveraging the unique blockchain identifier of the non-fungible token to send a request to obtain at least one resolution record of a plurality of different resolution records of different types stored for the domain, wherein a registry smart contract on the blockchain manages the non-fungible token and associates the domain with an account address of an owner of the domain;
• receiving the requested at least one resolution record of the domain;
• interpreting the received at least one resolution record to determine a resolution action or a target based at least in part on a type associated with the received at least one resolution record;
• and
• utilizing the requested at least one resolution record to resolve the name of the domain.
