Kernel-enforced authentication for ledger-registered AI agents

At least one non-transitory, computer-readable medium storing instructions, which, when executed by at least one data processor of a system, cause the system to:

• load a monitoring program into a kernel of an operating system,
• wherein the monitoring program is configured to execute within a virtual machine resident in the kernel;
• attach the monitoring program to at least one hook point within the kernel,
• wherein the at least one hook point is associated with execution of an artificial intelligence (AI) agent;
• capture, via the monitoring program, a plurality of event records associated with the AI agent,
• wherein each event record comprises at least one of:
• a process identifier, an operation identifier, a resource identifier, or a timestamp;
• determine a cryptographic value by applying one or more cryptographic functions to a representation of at least a subset of the event records;
• and
• maintain the cryptographic value on a distributed ledger within a registry record associated with the AI agent.

A computer-implemented method comprising:

• loading a monitoring program into a monitoring component of a monitoring layer of an operating system,
• wherein the monitoring layer of the operating system is maintained external to a user space of an operating system;
• attaching the monitoring program to at least one hook point within the monitoring component,
• wherein the at least one hook point is associated with execution of an artificial intelligence (AI)-based agent;
• capturing, via the monitoring program, a plurality of event records associated with execution of the AI-based agent;
• determining one or more cryptographic values by applying one or more functions to a representation of at least a subset of the event records;
• and
• maintaining the one or more cryptographic values at a distributed database within a record of the AI-based agent.
