Abstract
Embodiments described herein relate to methods and apparatuses for obtaining information relating to tethering events. A method performed at a first network function for obtaining information relating to tethering events includes receiving, from a second network function, a first request to report information either related to detected tethering events in a session or related to detected tethering events for one or more services in a session; detecting a first tethering event at a first device; and transmitting a first message to the second network function, the first message including tethering information related to the first tethering event.
Claims19
A method performed at a first network function for obtaining information relating to tethering events, the method comprising:
- receiving, from a second network function, a first request to report information either related to detected tethering events in a session or related to detected tethering events for one or more services in a session, wherein the second network function comprises a Session Management function (SMF);
- detecting a first tethering event at a first device;
- and
- transmitting a first message to the second network function, the first message comprising tethering information, related to the first tethering event, wherein the tethering information comprises an identification of a device type of the first device.
A method performed at a third network function for obtaining information relating to tethering events, the method comprising:
- obtaining first information for use in determining policies to be applied to traffic;
- determining, based on the first information, a first policy to be applied to either tethering traffic in a session or tethering traffic for one or more services in the session, wherein the first policy indicates that a second network function, should report information relating either to detected tethering events in the session or to detected tethering events for the one or more services in the session, wherein the second network function comprises a Session Management function (SMF);
- transmitting to the second network function a first request to report information related either to detected tethering events in the session or to detected tethering events for the one or more services in the session;
- and
- receiving tethering information from the second network function related to a first tethering event at a first device, wherein the tethering information comprises an identification of a device type of the first device.
