Abstract
Procedures for using a transmission configuration indication (TCI) state in wireless communications are described. A base station may send one or more configuration parameters indicating a plurality of cells to be updated with a same TCI state. A wireless device may apply a TCI state, indicated by a message, to the plurality of cells for at least one of reception or transmission.
Claims28
A method comprising:
- receiving, by a wireless device, one or more radio resource control (RRC) messages comprising one or more configuration parameters, wherein the one or more configuration parameters comprise a cell group parameter for a cell group, wherein the cell group parameter comprises serving cell indexes of cells of the cell group to which the wireless device applies a transmission configuration indication (TCI) state indicated in a medium-access control (MAC) control element (CE) to one or more physical downlink control channels (PDCCHs) of the cell group;
- receiving a MAC CE, wherein the MAC CE comprises:
- a serving cell index indicating an identity of a first cell in the cell group;
- a control resource set (coreset) index identifying a first coreset of the first cell;
- and
- a TCI state identifier applicable to the first coreset;
- and
- based on the one or more configuration parameters comprising the cell group parameter, applying a TCI state identified by the TCI state identifier to PDCCH receptions in a respective coreset of each cell in the cell group.

A wireless device comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to:
- receive one or more radio resource control (RRC) messages comprising one or more configuration parameters, wherein the one or more configuration parameters comprise a cell group parameter for a cell group, wherein the cell group parameter comprises serving cell indexes of cells of the cell group to which the wireless device applies a transmission configuration indication (TCI) state indicated in a medium-access control (MAC) control element (CE) to one or more physical downlink control channels (PDCCHs) of the cell group;
- receive a MAC CE, wherein the MAC CE comprises:
- a serving cell index indicating an identity of a first cell in the cell group;
- a control resource set (coreset) index identifying a first coreset of the first cell;
- and
- a TCI state identifier applicable to the first coreset;
- and
- based on the one or more configuration parameters comprising the cell group parameter, apply a TCI state identified by the TCI state identifier to PDCCH receptions in a respective coreset of each cell in the cell group.
