Battery pack having blocking plate over a connection busbar

A battery pack comprising:

• a plurality of submodules;
• a pack case configured to receive the plurality of submodules;
• and
• a connection busbar configured to connect a first submodule and a second submodule of the plurality of submodules to each other,
• wherein the first submodule of the plurality of submodules comprises:
• a terminal unit on a top surface of the first submodule connected to the connection busbar, the terminal unit and connection busbar being stacked vertically;
• a blocking plate configured to cover the terminal unit, an upper end of the connection busbar, and a side surface of the connection busbar;
• and
• a thermal insulation cover covering the blocking plate so that the blocking plate is between the thermal insulation cover and the connection busbar
• wherein the blocking plate comprises:
• an upper structure;
• a terminal protecting portion protruding upwardly from the upper structure;
• a side structure extending downwardly from a front edge of the upper structure;
• and
• a pollutant permeation preventing portion located at a lower part of the upper structure, the pollutant permeation preventing section being configured to protect the terminal unit and opposite side surfaces of the connection busbar.
