Abstract
Provided is an electrode binder for a biofuel cell, which can provide an electrode slurry that has a low environmental load, a conductive material of which being good in dispersibility, and is suitable for screen printing and allows production of a biofuel cell that exhibits good output characteristics. The electrode binder for a biofuel cell according to the present invention includes a polymer (A) having a first structural unit derived from a nonionic ethylenically unsaturated monomer (a1), a second structural unit derived from an anionic ethylenically unsaturated monomer (a2), and a third structural unit derived from a crosslinking agent (a3), and the crosslinking agent (a3) has two or more ethylenically unsaturated bonds in one molecule.
Claims4
An electrode binder for a biofuel cell, comprising a polymer (A) comprising a first structural unit obtained from a nonionic ethylenically unsaturated monomer (a1), a second structural unit obtained from an anionic ethylenically unsaturated monomer (a2), and a third structural unit obtained from a crosslinking agent (a3), wherein
- the crosslinking agent (a3) has two or more ethylenically unsaturated bonds in one molecule,
- the anionic ethylenically unsaturated monomer (a2) comprises both (i) one or more selected from the group consisting of ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acids and salts thereof and (ii) one or more selected from the group consisting of ethylenically unsaturated sulfonic acids and salts thereof,
- the nonionic ethylenically unsaturated monomer (a1) comprises an aromatic ethylenically unsaturated compound, a (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester, and a polar group-containing ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid ester, wherein the aromatic ethylenically unsaturated compound comprises styrene, the (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester comprises (meth)acrylic acid-2-ethylhexyl, and the polar group-containing ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid ester comprises (meth)acrylic acid-2-hydroxyethyl, and
- a content of the second structural unit in the total amount of the first structural unit, the second structural unit, and the third structural unit that constitute the polymer (A) is 20% by mass or less.
