Rendering of field sequential displays in a display subsystem

A method of display processing, comprising:

• obtaining an indication of color data associated with a plurality of pixels, wherein each of the plurality of pixels corresponds to a plurality of color channels, wherein each of the plurality of pixels is associated with a corresponding pixel position of a set of pixel positions;
• dividing the color data into each of the plurality of color channels corresponding to each of the plurality of pixels;
• selecting at least one first color channel of the plurality of divided color channels;
• scaling each of the plurality of pixels associated with the at least one first color channel;
• blending all of the plurality of pixels of each layer in a set of layers associated with the at least one first color channel;
• and
• transmitting an indication of the plurality of blended pixels associated with the at least one first color channel.

An apparatus for display processing, comprising:

• means for obtaining an indication of color data associated with a plurality of pixels, wherein each of the plurality of pixels corresponds to a plurality of color channels, wherein each of the plurality of pixels is associated with a corresponding pixel position of a set of pixel positions;
• means for dividing the color data into each of the plurality of color channels corresponding to each of the plurality of pixels;
• means for selecting at least one first color channel of the plurality of color channels;
• means for scaling each of the plurality of pixels associated with the at least one first color channel;
• means for blending all of the plurality of pixels of each layer in a set of layers associated with the at least one first color channel;
• and
• means for transmitting an indication of the plurality of blended pixels associated with the at least one first color channel.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer executable code for display processing, the code when executed by a processor causes the processor to:

• obtain an indication of color data associated with a plurality of pixels, wherein each of the plurality of pixels corresponds to a plurality of color channels, wherein each of the plurality of pixels is associated with a corresponding pixel position of a set of pixel positions;
• divide the color data into each of the plurality of color channels corresponding to each of the plurality of pixels;
• select at least one first color channel of the plurality of color channels;
• scale each of the plurality of pixels associated with the at least one first color channel;
• blend all of the plurality of pixels of each layer in a set of layers associated with the at least one first color channel;
• and
• transmit an indication of the plurality of blended pixels associated with the at least one first color channel.
