Apparatus and method for image compensation, display driver and display

A method for image compensation, applied to an electronic device with a curved screen, the method comprising:

• determining a row coordinate and a column coordinate for each of at least one pixel;
• determining whether a pixel is located in an edge region of the curved screen;
• in a case that the pixel is located in the edge region, symmetrically mapping the row coordinate of the pixel to obtain a target row coordinate of the pixel;
• and symmetrically mapping the column coordinate of the pixel to obtain a target column coordinate of the pixel;
• and determining a compensation coefficient of the pixel based on the target row coordinate of the pixel or the target column coordinate of the pixel;
• wherein the target row coordinate of the pixel is the row coordinate of the pixel or a row coordinate symmetrical to the row coordinate of the pixel, the target column coordinate of the pixel is the column coordinate of the pixel or a column coordinate symmetrical to the column coordinate of the pixel, coordinates of pixels on both symmetrical sides of the curved screen are mapped to identical coordinates, and symmetrical pixels located in the edge region of the curved screen adopt an identical compensation coefficient;
• and
• determining a target pixel value of the pixel based on the compensation coefficient of the pixel and an original pixel value of the pixel.

A display, comprising an apparatus for image compensation, the apparatus is applied to an electronic device with a curved screen, wherein the apparatus comprises:

• a processor;
• and
• a memory configured to store an instruction executable on the processor,
• wherein the processor is configured to:
• determine a row coordinate and a column coordinate for each of at least one pixel;
• for each of pixels, located in an edge region of the curved screen, of the at least one pixel, symmetrically map a row coordinate of the pixel to obtain a target row coordinate of the pixel;
• symmetrically map a column coordinate of the pixel to obtain a target column coordinate of the pixel;
• and determine a compensation coefficient of the pixel based on the target row coordinate of the pixel or the target column coordinate of the pixel;
• wherein the target row coordinate of the pixel is the row coordinate of the pixel or a row coordinate symmetrical to the row coordinate of the pixel, the target column coordinate of the pixel is the column coordinate of the pixel or a column coordinate symmetrical to the column coordinate of the pixel, coordinates of pixels on both symmetrical sides of the curved screen are mapped to identical coordinates, and symmetrical pixels located in the edge region of the curved screen adopt an identical compensation coefficient;
• and
• determine a target pixel value of the pixel based on the compensation coefficient of the pixel and an original pixel value of the pixel.
