Abstract
A display device including: a display panel foldable around a folding axis extending in a first direction; and a support plate disposed under the display panel, the support plate including: a first body; a second body disposed in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction from the first body; a connector disposed between the first body and the second body, overlapping the folding axis, and including a plurality of openings; and an insulating layer covering a surface of the connector.
Claims23
A display device, comprising:
- a display panel foldable around a folding axis extending in a first direction;
- and
- a support plate disposed under the display panel, the support plate including:
- a first body;
- a second body disposed in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction from the first body;
- a connector disposed between the first body and the second body, overlapping the folding axis, and including a plurality of openings;
- and
- an insulating layer covering first side surfaces of the connector that extend in the second direction and are disposed opposite each other along a third direction that crosses the first direction and the second direction, and second side surfaces of the connector that extend in the third direction and are disposed opposite each other along the second direction.
A support plate, comprising:
- a first body;
- a second body disposed in a first direction from the first body;
- a connector disposed between the first body and the second body, and including a plurality of openings;
- an insulating layer covering first side surfaces of the connector that extend in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction and are disposed opposite each other along a third direction that crosses the first direction and the second direction, and second side surfaces of the connector that extend in the third direction and are disposed opposite each other along the second direction;
- and
- a protrusion connected to an edge of the connector.
A method of manufacturing a support plate, the method comprising:
- coating a surface of a connector connected to a bridge with an insulating material;
- folding the bridge after coating the surface of the connector;
- forming a first body and a second body on opposite sides of the connector, respectively, wherein the first and second bodies are formed after folding the bridge;
- and
- cutting the bridge from the connector.
An electronic device, comprising:
- a display panel foldable around a folding axis extending in a first direction;
- and
- a support plate disposed under the display panel, the support plate including:
- a first body;
- a second body spaced apart from the first body in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction;
- a connector disposed between the first body and the second body, the connector including a plurality of openings and a protrusion;
- and
- an insulating layer disposed on the connector, wherein the insulating layer includes a plurality of openings respectively corresponding to the openings of the connector.
