Abstract
A variety of dispatcher user interfaces, communications architectures, methods, apparatus, APIs and protocols are described that can help facilitate the integration of volunteer responder networks into the workflows of PSAP dispatchers. In one aspect, a dispatcher user interface facilitates activation of the volunteer responder network, as well as tracking and/or communicating notes to medical devices such as AEDs in the responder network that have accepted an incident.
Claims14
A dispatcher user interface suitable for display on a dispatcher display screen of a computer aided dispatch (CAD) system at a public-safety answering point (PSAP), wherein the dispatcher user interface has programmed instructions embodied in a non-transitory computer readable medium configured to:
- at least one of receive a dispatcher input, selection or confirmation of a location of an emergency incident;
- receive an input of dispatcher notes;
- and
- render an activate responder network GUI widget that when activated by a dispatcher at the PSAP causes a responder network activation message to be sent that directly or indirectly causes one or more medical devices that are in a vicinity of the emergency incident to generate a nearby incident alert without requiring any intermediate human actions, wherein the nearby incident alert is configured to inform bystanders that there is a potential medical incident nearby for which the medical device may be helpful;
- and
- wherein the dispatcher user interface is further configured to electronically receive an incident accepted notification that indicates that a responder in possession of a first one of the medical devices has accepted the emergency incident and to electronically transmit the dispatcher notes inputted by a dispatcher so that the inputted notes can be rendered on the first medical device, and wherein no intermediate human actions are required to convey the incident accepted notification from the medical device to the dispatcher user interface once the responder has accepted an incident via the first medical device.
A dispatcher user interface suitable for display on a dispatcher display screen of a computer aided dispatch (CAD) system at a public-safety answering point (PSAP), wherein the dispatcher user interface has programmed instructions embodied in a non-transitory computer readable medium configured to:
- display a map of a region that includes a location of an emergency incident;
- render an activate responder network GUI widget that when activated by a dispatcher at the PSAP causes a responder network activation message to be sent that directly or indirectly causes one or more medical devices that are in a vicinity of the emergency incident to generate a nearby incident alert without requiring any intermediate human actions, wherein the nearby incident alert is configured to inform bystanders that there is a potential medical incident nearby for which the medical device may be helpful;
- and
- electronically receive an incident accepted notification that indicates that a responder in possession of a first one of the medical devices has accepted the emergency incident, wherein no intermediate human actions are required to convey the incident accepted notification from the medical device to the dispatcher user interface once the responder has accepted the emergency incident via the first medical device;
- display an accepting resource icon on the map at least partially in response to reception of the incident accepted notification, wherein the accepting resource icon shows a location of the first medical device on the map;
- and
- periodically update the accepting resource icon on the map to show an updated location of the first medical device as the first medical device is transported to the location of the emergency incident.
A dispatcher user interface suitable for display on a dispatcher display screen of a computer aided dispatch (CAD) system at a public-safety answering point (PSAP), wherein the dispatcher user interface has programmed instructions embodied in a non-transitory computer readable medium configured to:
- display a map of a region that includes a location of an emergency incident;
- display a first set of one or more first icons on the map, each first icon indicative of a location of a resource that is nearby the emergency incident, wherein the resources are medical devices;
- electronically receive one or more incident accepted notifications, each incident accepted notification indicating that a responder in possession of an associated one of the resources has accepted the emergency incident, wherein no intermediate human actions are required to convey the incident accepted notification from an accepting resource to the dispatcher user interface once the responder has accepted the emergency incident via the accepting resource;
- display a second set of one or more second icons on the map, each second icon indicative of a location of a corresponding resource that has accepted the emergency incident, wherein a resource is deemed to have accepted the emergency when a responder makes an acceptance input to the corresponding resource;
- and
- wherein the first and second icons have different visual appearances.
A dispatcher user interface suitable for display on a dispatcher display screen of a computer aided dispatch (CAD) system at a public-safety answering point (PSAP), wherein the dispatcher user interface has programmed instructions embodied in a non-transitory computer readable medium configured to:
- render an activate responder network GUI widget that when activated by a dispatcher at the PSAP causes a responder network activation message to be sent directly or indirectly to a responder network server that causes the responder network server to send nearby incident messages to one or more resources that are in a vicinity of an emergency incident to generate a nearby incident alert without requiring any intermediate human actions, wherein the nearby incident alert is configured to inform bystanders that there is a potential medical incident nearby for which a medical device may be helpful;
- and
- receive a responder network activation request acknowledgement directly or indirectly from the responder network server and display a responder network activation request acknowledgement message on a dispatcher screen in response thereto;
- receive an incident alerts have been sent notification directly or indirectly from the responder network server and display a responder network incident alert(s) have been seen message in response thereto;
- and
- electronically receive an incident accepted notification that indicates that a responder in possession of an AED or a volunteer responder has accepted the emergency incident and display an icon on a map showing a location of the AED or the volunteer responder in response thereto, wherein no intermediate human actions are required to convey the incident accepted notification to the dispatcher user interface once the responder in possession of the AED or the volunteer responder has accepted the emergency incident.
