Augmented reality reward game

A non-transitory computer readable medium comprising computer readable code executable by one or more processors to:

• capture, by one or more sensors of a local device, sensor data of a physical gaming area;
• generate, by the local device, an environment map comprising a geometric representation of the physical gaming area based on the sensor data;
• identify a game path through the physical gaming area from a current location of the local device, wherein the game path is identified from a traversable region of the physical gaming area as determined from the environment map, wherein the game path is identified based on the game path comprising a threshold number of regions of interest identified from the environment map;
• generate a graphical navigation overlay comprising the identified game path as a traversable path through a view of the physical gaming area;
• providing a playable minigame overlay associated with a first region of interest, wherein the first region of interest is detected based on a tracked location of the local device and the environment map, and wherein the playable minigame overlay is presented over a view of the first region of interest of the physical gaming area;
• and
• transmit an outcome of the playable minigame overlay and a player identifier to a player tracking system.

A method comprising:

• capturing, by one or more sensors of a local device, sensor data of a physical gaming area;
• generating, by the local device, an environment map comprising a geometric representation of the physical gaming area based on the sensor data;
• identifying a game path through the physical gaming area from a current location of the local device, wherein the game path is identified from a traversable region of the physical gaming area as determined from the environment map, wherein the game path is identified based on the game path comprising a threshold number of regions of interest identified from the environment map;
• presenting the identified game path as a graphical navigation overlay on the local device, wherein the graphical navigation overlay depicts a traversable path through a view of the physical gaming area;
• tracking a location of the local device using sensor data captured by the local device;
• determining, based on the tracked location of the local device and the environment map that the local device has reached a first region of interest within the physical gaming area;
• and
• in accordance with the determination that the local device has reached the first region of interest, initiate a minigame associated with the first region of interest on the local device, wherein the minigame is presented as a minigame overlay on the local device over a view of the first region of interest of the physical gaming area.
