System and method for providing image-based security

A system for monitoring security of a facility, the system comprising:

• a plurality of image sources each having a corresponding field-of-view of one or more locations in a facility;
• and
• a security server communicatively coupled to the plurality of image sources, the security server configured to:
• receive one or more images captured by the plurality of image sources;
• identify, via an object-detecting application, one or more objects in the captured one or more images based upon one or more object descriptors associated with the identified one or more objects, wherein the one or more object descriptors include at least one of an image source identity, a location of the one or more objects within the captured one or more images, an object type associated with the one or more objects, a visual characteristic associated with the object type, and/or a timestamp corresponding to a time at which the image containing the identified one or more objects was captured;
• generate a facility dashboard display, the dashboard display including a visual display mapping to each of the plurality of image sources having a corresponding field-of-view of the one or more locations in the facility;
• apply business logic rules to the identified one or more objects in the captured one or more images to detect a potential, threatened, imminent, or actual security incident in at least one of the one or more locations in the facility;
• and
• communicate an alert of the detected potential, threatened, imminent, or actual security incident on the facility dashboard display to indicate a security event in the at least one of the one or more locations in the facility.
